I use to say, “I will never own a retail business”. The old cliché, “Never say never” certainly is true. As it turned out, God had other plans for me that ultimately led me on this venture of owning a retail shop for vintage and antiques, and home décor furniture paints and faux finish products.
Owning your own business is work, but when you love what you do and there is a purpose behind what you do, then it doesn’t feel like work and the motivation to go on this amazing journey is always fresh and new.
I meet amazing people each day, which is only part of what makes this journey worthwhile. I constantly remind myself that even though I have a goal in mind, I should focus on the journey that will lead me to this goal, and everything will all happen on God’s timetable and not mine. So, for now, I am enjoying the ride and I am grateful to be on it.
The ride involves so many tasks that blogging tends to get put on the back burner, or I’m just so tired from juggling home and family needs with the shop, paint classes, social media, etc. that I am so brain dead that I can’t focus on writing a good post. Dividing my time fairly is always a challenge. So, whatever I am giving my attention to, I want it to be time well spent.
It took catching a bad cold, to actually, slow things down enough that I could write a new post…
So today I would like to take time to share briefly about the products that I carry and sell in my paint studio. My goal afterwards, is to write a blog post each week further detailing each line of paint and products that I carry and for which I teach classes on how to use. Maybe, this will keep me on track for a bit with my blog posts.
Enjoy & God Bless!
Milk paint by The Real Milk Paint Co. –
You are going to want to know more about this amazingly versatile paint and what you can do with it. For now it is a milk protein and lime based pigment powder that is mixed with water for a paint that is all natural, eco-friendly and with zero VOC’s.
Clay, Chalk and Mineral Paint by The American Paint Co. –
This paint is an all natural, eco-friendly, zero VOC’s paint. It is a self-priming paint that layers beautifully over one or more paint colors, wet distresses easily resulting in an ultra smooth finish, and the depth of color you get from the clay and mineral in the paint is fabulous!
Blackberry House Paint –
This paint is a self-priming water based paint that has no chalk in it, which means very little debris when sanding and/or distressing, it is a zero VOC’s paint that provides a durable finish, and due to its ability to level out as it dries, will give you an amazingly beautiful, no brush strokes finish. It is a simple paint to use for most anyone.
The line of products this company has to offer compliments and enhances the 3 lines of paint that I carry beautifully… The name, “Beautiful” could not be more appropriate! They have finish products and faux products that I am currently carrying and others that I plan to add to my studio very soon that I can promise you will love! Some fun project ideas are spinning around in my head and more fun classes for you to sign up and learn how to use these products.
Baroque Art Gilders Paste –
This wax-based gilding paste is a fun and versatile product with so many different uses. My favorite way to use it is to apply it with my finger, just like finger painting. What could be simpler and more fun than finger painting? And oh, the things you can do with it and the results you will get, no one would ever guess it was as easy as finger painting!
To learn more about each of these lines while waiting on my posts each week, you are welcome to view my products page. You can also visit my Facebook page to view regular postings of pictures using these products.
Now, I am off to spend time with my daughter watching a good family movie. House chores will have to wait. Time with Olivia is always time well spent.
